DR WONGA MATSHIKIZA
Dr. Wonga Matshikiza is a specialist neurologist who treats adults based at Life St. Georges Hospital and Netcare Greenacres Hospital in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Dr. Wonga Matshikiza covers the full spectrum of Clinical Neurology. He has a particular interest in Stroke, Epilepsy, Headaches disorders, movement disorders including Parkinson's disease and Demyelinating neurological disorders including Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Dr. Wonga Matshikiza established practice is fully equipped in electrodiagnostic studies including electroencephalogram (EEG), nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG).
Dr. Wonga Matshikiza completed his undergraduate degree at Walter Sisulu University in 2010. Followed by internship at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH). After completing his Neurology training at Groote Schuur Hospital in affiliation with the University of Cape Town, Dr. Matshikiza graduated as a Fellow of Neurology, with the College of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA) in 2018. He registered as a specialist neurologist with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) shortly thereafter. At the time of completion, he was the youngest neurologist in South Africa. Furthermore, he obtained his master's degree in Neurology with research in Stroke neurology. During his fellowship training, he also completed the EEG online course created by the Neurological Association of South Africa (NASA) in collaboration with the University of Cape Town. After being invited to the University of Naples in Italy for a month, he gained world-class neurology experience.
